Founded in 2026 by Dean Smith and Jerry Kilgo, the firm was built on a shared vision of providing thoughtful, client-focused representation to individuals and families facing some of life’s most important legal challenges.
Dean and Jerry bring distinct backgrounds and strengths to the firm, creating a well-rounded approach to serving their clients. Dean Smith offers a diverse professional background shaped by his upbringing on a working dairy and beef farm in Holly Pond, Alabama, as well as his academic and legal experience. A graduate of Saint Bernard Preparatory School, Auburn University, and Belmont University College of Law, Dean has developed a strong foundation in legal advocacy, leadership, and service. His career reflects a commitment to professionalism, hard work, and meaningful client relationships.
Jerry Kilgo brings a uniquely compassionate perspective to the practice of law. In addition to being an attorney, Jerry is also a licensed clinical social worker, giving him valuable insight into the emotional and personal challenges many clients face. Before entering the legal profession, Jerry worked as a family therapist and social worker with DHR, where he gained firsthand experience helping families navigate difficult situations. That background continues to shape his thoughtful, client-centered approach to legal representation.
